The original evening volcano adventure and still the best! This tour visits two National Parks. Travel south into Kona coffee country for the first stop at Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park. Before coffee there was kapu, the ancient Hawaiian system of laws. Should a person break kapu and face almost certain death they could make their way to a place of refuge and be absolved. Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park is one of those places of refuge.

  • Moderate air temperatures at sea level with cooler temperatures at higher elevations. Occasional rain showers; strenuous hike across uneven and steep, rocky terrain
  • Volcanic emissions, including sulfur gas, may affect those with respiratory concerns

  • Names, heights and weights, and age (if under 18 years old) REQUIRED no later than 24 hours prior to the tour.
  • Single Rider ATV: Driver must be at least 16 years of age and 4’10’’ and at least 90lbs. Maximum weight is 300 lbs.
  • Ages 16-18 years old are required to provide identification showing date of birth at time of check in. If unable to provide ID at that time, they will not be able to drive their own ATV and there will be no adjustment to charges.
  • Helmets, goggles and gloves are provided (mandatory).
  • RULES (No passing, no stunts, no reckless maneuvers; Stay on the trail at all times; All riders must pass the practice course; Our tours are incredibly scenic and historical…this is NOT a wild ride.

This night time snorkel adventure is the best time to view the manta rays. Although you can view manta rays during daylight hours, they feed most actively at night when many plankton rise towards the surface providing one of the favorite foods on which mantas feed. Using lights that are safe for the manta, we are able to attract these plankton which attracts the mantas.

  • Names and weights for each participant are required 24 hours prior to flight date.
  • Federal Aviation Administration regulations require all passengers to be weighed at time of check-in. 
  • For each guest weighing 250 pounds (on A-Star flight) or 260 pounds (on Eco-Star flight) or more, an adjacent, empty seat (comfort seat) purchase is required to safely balance the aircraft. The charge for comfort seat is reduced to 50% off the regular rate. The comfort seat ensures the comfort for the guest and all of the other guests on the flight.
  • No Scuba diving 24 hours prior to flight time 
  • Children 24 months and over require an individual full-fare seat.
